New User Experience

Finally released with a new theme. I kinda hate the old theme, just that I have no time to make any changes. The name of this new theme can be found at the footer of this site. Below are some of the changes:

  • The site are more focused on content.
  • It only display excerpts on the main page and rss feeds, instead of the whole content.
  • Clean minimalist look.

Tell me what you think.

Gmail Adds Themes To It’s Feature List

Taken from Official Gmail Blog:

Gmail fans have been building unofficial extensions to spice up their inboxes for a while, but up til now themes haven’t been an integral part of Gmail. We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad, nature themes that change scenery over time, weather driven themes that can rain on your mailbox, and fun characters to keep you in good company.

Some screen shots of the new theme:

To customize your inbox, go to the Themes tab under Settings. I don’t see the settings available yet on my account, so I might be checking back soon.

UPDATE: The themes setting is available now on my account. Should be available on yours too. Enjoy. Woohoo!!

Ubuntu Dust Theme

I have just installed a new sexy theme on my Ubuntu Hardy, replacing the default brown and orange theme that hated by a lot of people.

The Dust Theme.

Dust is a concept for a new, refreshing look for Ubuntu. The idea was to take the defining aesthetic elements of Ubuntu and remix it into something clean, modern, functional, and unique.

The theme requires the new Murrine-SVN package (included in the site). Otherwise, it won’t work where the gnome panel and menu bar displays an ugly gray color. The site includes all the instructions needed to install the theme, and also includes a matching Firefox theme and wallpaper.

Below are the results on my box:

What theme do you guys use on your setup? Feel free to share what your desktop looks like, so we can exchange ideas then. 🙂
